Located by Century 21 Action, Inc.'s Topsail Beach (south) office. Offering a tour through the history of the Topsail Island area from early settlers and Blackbeard the Pirate to the time of World War II. The museum is operated by volunteers and is open April through October on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm. Topsail's top attraction! (Other than the beach) The primary purpose of the facility is the care and medical needs of injured sea turtles. It is open to the public on a limited basis to view and learn about their program aimed at protecting the endangered species. Due to the popularity of this attraction, arrival before opening is suggested. No calls for reservations are accepted. Visitors can expect to see green sea turtles, large loggerhead turtles, or the Kemp's Ridley turtle. Donations are appreciated. To learn more attend the turtle talks on Thursday afternoons at 4 pm at the Surf City Fire Department.
