September in Topsail: Surf City Blues Festival, Muscadine Harvest Festival & NC Spot Festival


Topsail Island NCOnce Labor Day passes, donít think that the fun in the sun has to end. It doesnít here in the greater Topsail area. Not only does the summer vibe linger on, but the off-season on the Treasure Coast offers plenty of opportunities to enjoy coastal North Carolinaís uncrowded beaches, pristine shores and crystal clear Atlantic waters. As the summer humidity drops, the vibrancy of colors explodes. The sunrises and sunsets are more brilliant, the sea-toned blues and greens are enhanced, and the skies are a stunning cerulean blue. Itís a wonderful time to vacation on Topsail Island.

Surf City Blues Festival

Soundside Park is the venue for the annual Surf City Blues Festival on Saturday, September 6. The all-day festival includes family-friendly fun combined with beautiful views of the Intracoastal Waterway. The Rusty Wright Band is the featured performance of the evening with the concert beginning at 6p.m.

9th Annual North Carolina Muscadine Festival

The 2014 Muscadine Harvest Festival celebrates North Carolinaís state fruit, as well as the nationís first cultivated grape on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27 from 10a.m. to 7p.m. at the Duplin County Events Center in Kenansville.

The 10th Annual Muscadine Festival features over 250 wines along with musical concerts, arts and crafts, food, childrenís activities and more. Bring your friends for some fabulous tailgating as you enjoy the live music. There are cooking and wine-making contests, too. You can purchase advance tickets here.

54th Annual North Carolina Spot Festival

Hampstead hosts its annual North Carolina Spot Festival on Saturday, September 27 from 9a.m. to 10:30p.m. and Sunday, September 28 from 9a.m. to 5p.m. Enjoy live music, kids activities, arts and crafts, pageants, fireworks and more. Donít leave without trying an authentic Southern Spot dinner served with traditional sides including hush puppies, french fries and coleslaw.

Admission to the NC Spot Festival is $3; children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Spot dinners cost $8 per plate. You can view the full listing of festival events here.
